Once my boyfriend and I decided to going to Paris on holiday my heart was pretty much set on a trip to Disneyland. One of the first things I wanted to know was how feasible a day trip from central Paris was, and so I began my research with the following FAQ's.

1. How easy is it to get to Disneyland?

Very Easy - Trains run direct to Marne-la-Vallée station which brings you out directly into Disney Village, around a 2 minute walk from the park gates. You can take the eurostar straight from the UK, or if you're staying in central Paris like we were then DLP is around an hour away by train, this cost €7.50 each way for an adult ticket.

2. Is it expensive to visit Disneyland Paris?

I was pleasantly surprised to find that park tickets weren't as pricey as I had originally anticipated, we bought online during the 25th anniversary celebrations. There are plenty of ways to save money on your trip, I'll go through a few later in this post.

3. Is it possible to visit both parks (Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios) in one day?

In short, yes. Provided you prioritise what you most want to do and make the most of the full time allocated in the park you can easily fit in the highlights of both parks in a day trip. 

Planning Your Trip:

1. First things first, decide when you want to go, use the Disney calendar to book an off peak ticket saving you a reasonable amount on the ticket price, and hopefully reducing the amount of time spent in queues. Louis and I bought a "Mini Ticket" (AKA super off peak). At this stage I also researched the top rides and attractions at each park, this helped me weigh up whether it would be worth upgrading to a two park ticket for an extra £12 - single park tickets are available for as little as £32!

If you're flexible about your dates then follow the next two steps:

2. Check for ride closures: Use the park hours calendar to see if there are any major ride closures during your planned visit. You can skip ahead on the calendar to see when the rides re-open. If there are particular rides you're dying to go on and they happen to be scheduled as closed during your visit; you will at least have the option to either shift your date, or at the very least avoid disappointment on the day.

3. Pick the day you'll visit: With our off peak ticket we had the choice of visiting between Monday - Friday. After doing a little bit of research I read that the least busy days of the week to visit Disneyland Paris are usually Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is apparently down to the fact that it avoids 'long-weekenders' who may be on a Friday to Monday trip, and Wednesdays on which French children typically have the afternoon off school. Using the analytics section in the MagiParc app I was also able to see that queue times were significantly less on these days - again more to come on this in my next post.

4. The last step is deciding where you'll buy your tickets from. I have heard there are great savings to be found when purchasing through third party sellers, although this is something I have never personally done. 

Instead I opted to buy directly from the Disneyland Paris Website, for the 25th Anniversary celebrations they had a deal where you could get an adult ticket for the price of a child's ticket, this meant we were able to buy an (off peak) 1 day 2 park ticket for just £44 each which is great value in my opinion. Each year Disney usually put out some kind of deal on tickets, so you can nearly always save yourself a decent amount of money with a little planning and providing you buy online and in advance. 

I opted for the free and quick print at home tickets, which worked perfectly fine for us, however in the future (provided we had enough time for the tickets to arrive) I would probably pay the extra money to have the prettier tickets shipped to us, as I think they're a lovely keepsake and would be less bulky to carry around than A4 tickets.
